Job Function:
To adjust and finalize color submissions through the use of lab equipment, as well as perform quality control functions.
Essential Duties:
Measure, weigh up color formula’s materials to meet customer specifications
Mix batch in jars on shakers, and produce color chips using injection molding machines for sample submission and for each lot of colorant manufactured to ensure quality control
During production process, match customer color submissions as accurately as possible using lab equipment and guidance from more experienced technicians assigned to Quality.
Clean work area as needed, and follow all Safety rules and regulations.
Fill supply cabinets with fresh supplies
File folders, chips, paperwork
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist with sample production and may perform product testing
2. May be trained to run the Mill, or bottle machine to produce color sheets, or bottles for sample submission.
3. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Ability to see color accurately (Munsell test given when interviewing)
3. Strong number perception, basic math and measurement skills, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and good verbal
communication skills.
Physical Demands:
Frequent walking, standing, and other physical activity to include: bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching upward/downward, and outward.
Lift 5 to 20 lbs. frequently, 20-40 lbs. occasionally, and more than 40 lbs. with assistance if required.
Tip, roll, or move barrels/drums (up to 100 lbs.) of product occasionally (using “buddy” system, or barrel dolly for these weights) for lab storage purposes.
Other requirements include excellent depth perception, strong eye-hand coordination and competent reading abilities.
