Summary:

To perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all production and lab equipment.  To train and ensure duties and responsibilities of department personnel are performed in a safe and timely manner.  Support the efforts of all department personnel to ensure all equipment is maintained in the most cost effective way without sacrificing quality of product.

 

Essential Duties:

Troubleshoot and maintain all lab and production equipment 
molding machines, mixers, extrusion machines, forklifts, floor scrubbers, etc. 
typical building / facility upkeep
Perform preventative maintenance on all lab and production equipment
Duties include: light hydraulics, pneumatics, metal fab, and welding, forklift repair, electrical troubleshooting and electrical repair. 
Addresses part requisition needs for timely repairs with Maintenance Mechanic A.  
Reviews upcoming projects with Maintenance Mechanic A to determine best use of manpower. 
Oversee and monitor the scheduling or completion of work (logs), training, cross-training of all new and existing maintenance or janitorial employees.  
Oversee and check the quality of work performed by maintenance and janitorial staff. 
Ensure maintenance areas are kept clean throughout the shifts, and ready for shift transition.
Interface regularly with Office, Lab, Production, and Materials supervision to review specific needs with regard to repair needs, follow-up on repairs made, and janitorial issues.  
Reviews Maintenance Logs regularly to monitor job progress.  Prepares probationary and annual performance reviews consulting with Maintenance Supervisor and accomplishing approvals.     Conducts incident reports, accident investigations as required.  
Adhers to, and enforces Badger Color Employee and Safety policies and programs.  
 

Additional Responsibilities: 

Serves as back-up for Maintenance Mechanics during absences.  
Serves as a member of the Shift Emergency Response team for purposes of monitoring and handling potential degrade/fume spills, fire or tornado.  Is able to be certified with Basic First Aid and CPR as required by NFPA / Electrical Safety Regulations.   
Along with the Supervisor, serves as a go-to for injured or sick employees on the shift to determine best method of treatment.
